What is the 10 Day 5K Challenge
The challenge is to complete 5km every day for 10 days in a row. You can complete the distance at any pace you like. You can run, walk or even hop your way through the 5km. However you complete your distances, you can fundraise to support people living with cancer.
Is there a registration fee?
No, it’s free to take part in the challenge.
Can children take part?
Yes, under 18s are welcome to take part but they’ll need an adult to register on their behalf as can only communicate with an adult.
When does the challenge start?
You can choose the week you start your challenge. You can start your challenge on any Monday until November - simply choose your start date when you register for the challenge.
Can we complete the challenge in a team?
Yes, absolutely. We think this would make a great challenge for two people or more to complete together. You can use the same profile page so you hit all the milestones and achieve the badges on your way to triumph.
How do I record my distances and progress?
You can log your distances on your profile page, which is where you can also earn the activity milestone badges. Your profile page is created for you when you register for the challenge. You can add your distances to your page manually or, if you have one, you can connect your Strava account and sync activity directly to your profile page.
What happens if I miss a day?
Don’t worry, you can make the up the distance during your remaining days. The important thing is that you keep active and keep moving.
How do I fundraise?
When you complete your registration for the challenge, a JustGiving fundraising page will be created automatically. Here you can collect your online donations as well as record your distances. You can personalise your page to make it your own with your picture and story of why you’re taking on the challenge.
How much do I have to raise?
There is no minimum fundraising target. We just ask that you raise you much as you can to support people living with cancer.
I’ve been given cash donations; how do I pay them in?
The best way to pay in your cash donations is to make a payment from your debit/credit card to your own profile page, but you won’t be able to claim Gift Aid on them. Alternatively, you can pay them in to us at Macmillan by calling 0300 1000 200.
